Third post!!
Been out to a shooting for a short film. Translating a poem visually into moving images and music evoking the same sort of emotions is a difficult job. But here is a director attempting precisely that. The poem in this case being Tagore's "Sadharon Meye".
For those not familiar with the poem it is one of Tagore's poems written from a woman's perspective. There are overwhelming odds and lingering sense of defeat that is part of an ordinary bengali girls life. And there are occasional flights of fancy. It is about that fantasy of an ordinary person to be extra-ordinary. In between there are digs at the prolific bengali novelist Sarat Chandra for creating larger than life woman characters.
